i just replaced the engine in my 2000 ls 3.9L, now my fan isn't coming on and it's running hot. i know it's driven by that pump on the motor, what should i check first, i am totally clueless on this

bleed the hydraulic system for the fan. use a vaccum pump on the resevoir. once all the air is out if it doesnt come on then the little pin inside the fans motor that locks the blades shaft to the main drive gear fell out. you can make a new one by cutting the smooth end of a tiny drill bit to fill the keyway
this is the part on the fan itself to check out. notice the little pin im pionting at. i made that out of a small drill bit and it has worked fine for years. that pin locks the stuff together so that it will spin. kinda dumb design
