Couric Prepped for Palin Interview by Consulting With Obama's Informal Chief Adviser.....

I'm shocked, OK, maybe not. Note: Sam Nunn via Wikipedia- There was speculation that he could have been the running mate of Democratic candidate Barack Obama in 2008. Nunn currently serving as an informal chief advisor to President-elect Obama in a transition of State and Defense Departments[2].

....Couric shed some light on her preparation for the interviews: Beforehand, she sought advice from former senator Sam Nunn and Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas. They told her to draw Palin out on her geopolitical worldview and urged her to let the governor speak at length without interrupting her. Maybe she should bring them along with her when she takes over at Meet the Press?
Rest here>>>>
Update: Hmmmm, Conde Naste pulled the above article, here's another link from MediaMemo that references the original.....

I'm really empty.. exhausted.
it's just so ridiculous, but no one seems to care...

Soooooooo, she should have prepped with loyal republicans?

Ok - well whatever.

Not, it's fine that she prepped. And it's actually perfectly acceptable that she prepped with someone associated with Obama.
But do you think that she consulted with a conservative, or someone like Rudy Gulliani, before interviewing Joe Biden or Obama, himself?

And what makes this worse is the fact that Nunn clearly was prepping Couric to handle the interview in a manner that would make her look as bad as possible. We know it was a very adversarial interview, now we know that Sam Nunn helped with her strategy. They told her to draw Palin out on her geopolitical worldview and urged her to let the governor speak at length without interrupting her. Directions from the Obama's camp to draw attention to Palin's perceived weakness.

Again, this story continues to just decimate any appearance of objectivity and impartiality that the dishonest mainstream media keeps trying to claim. It's utter bullcrap.

Well, if she didnt, she should have... IMO.

I can see being prepped by someone from the other side, that makes sense. But you should do it from both directions for fairness.

That aside, who cares.

She should have, but we know she didn't....

Who cares?
The press is a critical component of a successful democratic government. This is yet another example of the press failing the public.

That's right, who cares as long as those nasty Wepubwicans pay for their crimes!

Right Elmer?

So moving the conversation onto Palin's "geopolitical worldview" during a Palin interview, who happened to be running for VP at the time, and then letting her speak without interruption is bad?

Would it been preferable if Couric drew the conversation onto sports or Iraq and then interrupted her at every opportunity?

Does anyone have a transcript of the parts of the interview where Palin was being treated unfairly while discussing her "geopolitical worldview"? All I've seen are various clips, and the questions were all softballs that anyone even moderately interested in current events should have been able to answer with some degree of intelligence.

Thats a fact instead being tuned up for the intervew she showed up with a empty deck.

This entire thread is spilled milk. We need to quit crying over it.

Next time, we need to just do what the Democrats do: Skip interviews with hostile media altogether. No debates on MSNBC or CNN, either, just like the Democrats who boycotted the FNC debate.
