I've seen many pictures of mark viiis with cowl induction hoods and I've decided to try to find one. So far my luck hasn't been good. Any shop I've talked to is giving me an ungodly price. Is there a place that I could get one for a reasonable price?

LMS or make your own
I think the LMS hoods are around $800ish plus paint.
My hood cost me about $400 to make

If I were to make another one I'd just get a 96-98 Cobra Clone hood instead of an OE one that had damage. Pretty sure you can find the replicas a bit cheaper

What year is your car?

And it looks as thou Geno has taken down the site for Lincolnmotorsport.com , so you may have to make your own hood
I don't think any company makes a hood for the Gen 1 anymore. There was never an aftermarket hood for the Gen 2. Any that you've seen for those bodies are Custom made.

From all I've read about the Gen 1 aftermarket hoods, if it wasn't an LMS hood, it was pretty much junk and needed a bunch of tweaking to fit and line up properly

scp sells a cobra R style cowl hood, but i dont think anybody actually makes a regular straight cowl induction hood. They all just buy scoops and smooth them over and cut the bottom on the stock hood out.

That's more or less what I did with mine, only the "scoop" is about 80% of my upper skin area and had to be cut from an existing hood.

Do they still make them? most of the sites ive found quit making them.

I've only seen pics of 3 Gen2s with custom hoods, BlueTs cowl and a chick that has the same Cobra skin as mine and one with a Mustang GT scoop like the Silver gen1 VIII above

^^^^^very nice car but that hood has way to much going on. The heat extractors look to deep into the cowl

I really dig the Termi bumper on the DSG.. and yeah, the hood needs something a bit different. I think I would've just tried to make all the lines more rounded to match the overall body. You did great work, but it looks like you tried to shove the square peg into the round hole
