Hey Everyone,
I'm been scouring the internet searching for any crash test ratings for the Mark VIII's. I have come up empty handed. Can anybody help me with finding front and side impact crash test ratings for the Mark VIII's?

Thanks,
Dave

i cant help ya, but i will tell you that mark viii's will take care of you,

ive seen some pretty nasty wrecks that mark viii's have been in and have yet to see a death. (knock on wood)

i do believe this guy came out of this without a scratch, i could be wrong though...

I agree that you're safe. We're in tanks.

I could not find any information either! It seems, it's not longer in archives anywhere I could think to look. I did a pretty good search just now also.

I was totalled in my first 96...danced with a 18 wheeler. Walked away with air-bag rash on my left fore arm, thats it. I was very happy with how it held up.

The T-Bird/Cougar (which are on the same platform) got 5 stars for the driver & passenger in frontal crash ratings.

My '93 Cougar's side-impact beams were made out of a few layers of corrugated sheet metal, whereas my Mark has a massive round tube in each door. So the side-impact protection is apparently improved.

I used to have a '93 Mark until I had a nasty accident that involved skidding into a ditch and hitting a large, 2-foot-tall tree stump at ~40 mph. I walked away with nothing more than a scrape across my neck and chest from the seat belt, and a few scratches on my feet from some windshield glass that somehow ended up in my shoes. They are very safe cars, which is a major reason why I now have a '95 Mark.

Yeah, that's one of the guys from the MarkVIII.org forums. He's fine as far as I know, but couldn't get another Mark. I've seen people walk away from worse in the MarkVIII as well.

I'm never worried about tailgaters, 'cause I know I've got plenty of trunk space for 'em.

I'm never worried about stupid people in front of me, 'cause I know they'll fit just as nicely into my engine compartment.

Ask Marked8 he's was in a nasty with his 96 Mark VIII t-boned a drunk in a T-Bird.. ripped the t-bird in half and walk away with I believe only a broken arm.

Knew I had the link to this somewhere.

Head-on collision, here. Mark VIII vs. a pickup truck with a drunk driver. Both "going about 60 mph" before impact in the middle of the night. The pics are pretty graphic, for those who can't bear to see a wrecked Mark, so be warned.

The driver of the Mark VIII walked away with just some cuts and bruises. "The worst part of my treatment was having the embedded pieces of glass removed from my skull." The pickup truck driver was uninjured, but the passenger of the pickup was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, having suffered "severe head, neck, spine, and other external injuries". The pickup's roof had to be cut off to remove him.

I don't remember where exactly I found this originally, but I think he's on here or MarkVIII.org. I say "Good job, Mark VIII! Rest in peace!"
