crazy idle

When i have my 97 in d the idle goes up and down up and down and u can feel the car jerk a little... all this happens under 1000 rpms, this happen to anyone seems to jump from the 3rd notch to the 4th if i remember correctly.. sound like anything?

i do not get it when you mean 3rd and 4th notch. but it sounds like the IAC valve needs cleaning, or replacing. try cleaning that, and the MAF sensor.

notches on the beginning of the tach i meant sorry... iac valve is located were?

in your year it is located on top of the manifold next to the throttle! there is a thread on this with a picture to best decribe its location.
