Ive got a creaking and clanking noise coming from my drivers side... i thought it was my old struts, but just replaced with new ones, replaced upper control arms, and lower ball joints as well and still the same... i put my car on ramps and while under the car i had someone push up and down to see where the noise was coming from... upon inspection it appears to be from where my lower control arm and airstrut bolt together... i didnt get to take the passengers side apart to compare to, but.. my question is... on the lower control arm, it appears to have a rubber bushing with a metal sleeve that has teeth on each end... is that sleeve/bushing suppose to have any play or be able to rotate? the reason im asking is because i took a look at where my new strut connects and there are scratches where it seems the teeth are digging into... i beleive this is where the noise is coming from...i thought at first maybe i didnt torque it down enough so i tightened it as much as i possibly could... but no luck... have any of you guys had any experience with this issue??? any ideas??? thanks in advance....

the marks on the old strut are normal but if the sleeve rotates in the bushing its junk, also how bought the sway bar bushings or end links

well, the noise was coming from behind the wheel but i should check more thoroughly... i know that noise travels, and it might appear to come from one end and be from somewhere else.... i will check the sway bar bushings and end links again... when i did inspect last time, i was in a bit of a rush for time... this time i will make it a point to tackle this annoyance.... thanks for the input chickenviii
