I replaced the clockspring on my 00' v6. Horn works again, radio (volume, mute, etc...) works, but the cruise control buttons are still unresponsive. The cruise control light does not illuminate to show it's engaged after I press the on and set button going 40+ mph. I've verified that the cable moves freely at the TB along with all the vacuum hoses. In other words, no indicator and no cruise. I've done research on here but I only see problems when the cruise control light is on but does not hold speed, or if the cruise control fails to illuminate/work it's due to an old clock spring. No one on here seems to have the issue that I have hence the reason why I'm asking on here now. I had a code for a brake switch circuit input fault circuit B, but it went away before I put in the new clockspring and still has not came back.

I can do some more troubleshooting of my own, but I have a few questions to ask:

1) If a bad servo, would the light still illuminate?
2) If there is a fuse for the servo, where would it be located?
3) During research, I saw a member post there was a TSB for the steering wheel control buttons. Does that apply to my specific year LS?

Just asking for clarification. Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

The cruise module is all electric, no vacuum involved.
1. Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. It depends on how failed it is.
2. There are two fuses. F235 (35 in the kick panel) 5A, and F106 (6 in the under hood fuse box) 15A
3. I did have the resume button on my 04 fail, so it is possible that your on button has failed.
I would also check the pressure switch on the brake pedal support. It is a safety switch, and it will completely stop the cruise if it is bad or installed wrong, or in a wire to it is broken. I think that most often, the failure is the module/servo itself.

Thank you very much for your detailed answers joegr, I'll start with the easy parts first and work my way down to the servo. I'll keep you posted.

my cousins LS had a clock spring go bad, as it started to go bad, he though the buttons were wearing out so he just kept pressing harder. after a couple of years of dealing with it, he finally had it replaced. afterwards one of the radio buttons didn't work. we figured the button broke due to him pressing the sh!t out it all the time...
