cruse control probably, it some times works and sometimes dose not.

Exp.: i set the cruse a t 70 and i start going up a long hill the car slows down and when it gets to 60 the cruse shuts off.

Some time's i can not get it to work at all. before it has always held at the desired speed.

This all started about 2000 mi ago, approximately about when summer started, but that should not be a problem considering its lived in FL for ten years.

any suggestions?

same thing happens in my dad's 97 f150 - could be a sensor or wiring issue, that's all i can think of. if you search, there's a thread about the spring in the steering wheel and how wiring from the steering controls sometimes gets frayed and causes issues/

It's probably the servo unit depending on what style you have. This is not an abnormal problem on a car that is getting up there in age. If you look at a service manual for your car, it is possible there is an adjustment for losing speed...but that's usually for when the car sets a speed lower than when you set it...and vice versa.
