I wanted to know what you about this sytem I pieced together so far.

Mandrel bent 2.5" pipes from local muffler shop $100
Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler x2 Jegs.com $80
Magnaflow X-pipe $52
Stainless Dual Tips x2 $60

For $292 it doesnt seem bad. I have used Dynomax Mufflers on a car I used to have, anyone have experience with Dynomax on a LS?

$292!? That's a whole lot cheaper than most of the exhaust systems I've seen or heard of for an LS.

I haven't seen an LS with dynomax before, but I like the deep tone they give off on other cars I've seen with them.

Good Job. In my humble opinion, this is the way car modification should be done. You just imprinted your own "custom-ness" to your car, and will truely have a unique system.

I have dynomax on my '81 Capri with a 351. Good mufflers, I've had them on for about 6 or so years and they have held up well. My only complaint is that as the fiberglass packing stuff in them burns out, they get louder. I have 2.5 pipes with no cats on mine, so that helps make noise, but it's not too terrible, but it might be a bit much for the LS. After all, it's not a Mustang, it's a Lincoln.

I agree with custom mods, I just finished up my intake adapter for a cone filter, saved about $80.

Raylisiak, could you post a sound clip, I know it might not be possible though. I would like to hear the mufflers on the LS.

Our system for this car sounds AWESOME.

Plus the fact that our new LIFETIME ss mufflers are on sale for $119.00 each its a good deal too.

Question. I like the custom sound outside the car but inside it kinda stinks when you are on a long ride and scrutinizig every little sounds. YIKES! At any rate has anyone used dynomat near the exhaust? I would like to know if it would be safe to use in the race way of the exhaust.

Hey what did you use? Platic or metal? I was just looking to what I can fab it out of today. I started to take mine apart today but it started raining.

Geno, does this exhaust work exclusively with the LSE? I noticed the tips come out the exhaust ports very nicely. Also, what size pipe is it? It looks like 3".

Used abs plastic sheet and 3" tube, solvent welded and siliconed together. I just ordered a cone from K&N, rf-1016. It's a 3.5" filter, 7" long, with a 10 degree flange angle to help it settle better in the area where the airbox was.

I see I might end up doing a lot of polycarbonate work. The only part I wont be replacing will be the MAF tube section. I was thinking of cutting a 2" thick square and tapping it to accept the OEM bolts. I am thinking cutting out the hole to match the outter diameter pass the plexi tubing and using the solvent to bond the pieces.

I have used a lot of plexi but never in this type of enviroment. Heat and vibration.

I might have to tweak this a little bit as I still cant to add the ccfl to light the tube. The lights are not going in the tube for obvious reasons. So I need to find some cheap tubes or rings to tool with until I figure out how I want to add them in. Final product will get the better bulbs. Hopefully better will be brighter.

I think you'll be fine using polycarb tubing becuase it is a lot stronger than plexi, and more heat resistant. The ccfl would be a nice touch to make your LS stand out in the crowd.
