I have a chance to pick this up for a fair price, is it repairable?

Whatever you decide to do, make sure to take the cover off first and make the repair to the underside.

I can get the complete interior minus main dash and carpet (to put in my ivory car) ; is dying my existing ivory carpet black a good option? anybody done that? what'd you use to dye it?

for the rip repair, I'm presuming it'd be best to to peel back the cover/leather from off the cushion? to get to the backside of the leather? To replace the panel is prolly about $200 (1st estimate I got) so I'd try to use silicone and do it myself

I did it to my blue '97 & my GMC Yukon. It's beyond amazing. I don't think I'm ever re-upholstering leather seats again.

I've been looking into this, any problems with it rubbing off on your clothes? Also for a black seat like mine(in the picture above) what color would best match it? Ebony?or Midnight black?

I used black silicone on my old gen 2 seat in a crack that was a little smaller than that. I masked around the hole with masking tape, then filled the hole with the silicone. Don't go crazy, just get some under the cover so that it adheres to it and flexes with the leather. Wipe the surface smooth with a solvent, after it firms up a little bit(not fully cured). And peel off the tape. Works really well, in my car it just looked like a small fold in the leather.

Hey dnsherrill,

When you finish the repair, can you please let us know what you did to fix it and post before and after pics?

Thanks and good luck!
