went to go for a ride in the graveyard creeper today after work and my drivers side door handle broke again  . I had it replaced back in 2000 when it broke the first time. took it to the Lincoln dealer and got it fixed for $200.00. so today I went back to the Lincoln dealer and this time they wanted to charge me $333.00!!!!  . so I decided to take it to Rusty Eck Ford to see how much they would charge. they will fix it for $190.00.:) that's more like it. I think the Lincoln dealer was trying to break it off in me. I showed them the receipt from 2000 when they charged me $200.00 and they told me that's just how much it's gone up in 5 years!! what a bunch of bullsh!t!!!! needless to say it's going to Rusty Eck to be fixed.

Why not replace it yourself with a used part and save some bucks? It's not that hard to swap out, the space is just a bit tight.

cause it has to be painted to match. and I'm working overtime so I don't have time to mess with it right now.

I guess that is a good enough reason:)

Mine is starting to go on the drivers side, it is getting really hard to open. How much was the part at the stealership?

You can get the door handle from Max at Five Star Ford (one of the vendors on the right ---->)

I think it was like 35 bucks or so.

I have a complete driver's door handle I'll be putting in when I get a chance. I replaced the weak roll pins with stainless steel bolts, washers, and nylock nuts. It looks to me like the friction clips for the rollpins start to slide over time and allow the ears on the handle to splay outwards and then break.

Mine's gonna go soon. It feels really hard to pull. Everytime I think it's gonna break, it fixes itself and feels nice and smooth again. This has been going on for a year but I know its on borrowed time.

So how long do you guys think before these handles will no longer be available at a dealer? I'm thinking I should get a spare for when mine goes.

The big fix after you repair your broken handles is to use some lube on the rubber seals so they don't stick shut, especially in the winter when you are tempted to gorilla the pot metal handles by pulling on them to open the doors.

I went to the dealer and gave them both part numbers

XF3Z-6322405-AA is $115
F8LZ-6322405-AA this one is actuall 6322404-AA and they are asking $53

but they have neither of them in stock so I can figure out which is which. can anyone confirm before I have them order it?

this is what came up in my search, first one doesnt make sense

so does any one know the correct part number for the drivers side door handle?

Just call Max at Five Star Ford. If you don't feel like it or whatever, I'll look in my receipts when I get home from work for the one I replaced over the winter.

Ok, I've looked through all my receipts and I don't know what the hell I did with the one for the door handle. Sorry dude.
