So my other Fuk!n window regulator went out again and i was wonderin how hard is it really to fix myself? N e one done this themselves or should i let the dealer do it again. Warranty wont cover as i bought it used. Its the front passenger just to let ya know.

Thanks.

What the hell is wrong with those regulators? I didn't have that problem yet man (I hope I won't), so I don't know how to change it, but I think I read somewhere that it is not very hard to change em. Just pull out the door cover and it should be held with few bolts I think.

Good luck though.

It's probably riveted on. You will need to drill and grind the rivets out to remove it. Heavy duty suckers too. Try and use bolts when you go back together. Just be careful you don't drill and grind your door panel when you do it or you won't ever get it right. If the regulator has been replaced before, there is a good chance they used bolts and all the rivet removal has already been done for you...unless the ignorant SOB's put rivets back in!! Oh...that would piss me off!!!

One other thing. Maybe wear mechanics gloves or be careful. Most car doors I have worked on are seriously sharp edged and you will lose a lot of blood if you are careless.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

in this case the window regulator is not riveted (thand god)..
i have a 00 LS V8 and my driver side window went crunch one time...
i got the part for the window at the dealership becuase i coulnt find it :) anywhere else.. also .. you will not find just the regulator.. they will sell u the whole assembly which in my case it was like $120
it isnt all that hard to replace.. just takes time.... the hardest part is just getting the door panel off with all them clips.. im sure someone here will have the part # :) have fun
