Have a shop evacuate the system and pull a vacuum on it for a few hours if needed.when they pull a vacuum if it goes to zero or there is nothing in it. then you are in trouble. other wise do the vacuum then recharge.
I had the similar problem. My system was over charged and had a ton of moisture in it. it took about 4 hours to get it all out !!! I think the previous owner had tried to use one of the do it yourself small cans and over charged it and let air in. A very bad combination !!!
