DieselDan's 94 Champagne/Black Progress Thread!

Dnsherill, the common practice is not to modify the brake hose, but to modify the caliper. You grind/file material away from the caliper and don't touch the hose end. I have wondered if how much you removed from your flange is what is causing your leak.
could be, but it doesn't look like it

I'm hoping these were causing the leak(s) damged square cut seals

I took the hose off the car (actually this was a new never installed hose) and put the flange against a fine bench grinder...then bled/flushed the system after install...2 qts of new fluid

my thinking is that if I make a mistake w/ the grinder, I'd rather replace a $15 hose than a PBR caliper

Well, I do need a spacer. 1/4" seems to be the thinnest I can find. I'll have to go pick up a pair today. It is so close you can rotate the wheel by hand when it is completely bolted down, but the rim drags on the spindle sooo slightly.

That's actually a little surprising, I figured the spindle would clear you aren't much closer than a 9in wheel with a 36mm offset and the spindle does move away from the wheel the further up you go. I was figuring the tire would hit at the pinch bolt since you are 14mm closer than me and I only have about 3mm of clearance.

Rotors drilled to 4.50", I plan on either GT or cobra brakes, but haven't done them yet. One thing at a time!

I had to install a 5/16" spacer on the front. I want to find a narrower spacer though, I only need about 2mm.

Dan I really likes! It looks really easy too! I've read a couple threads on that tool & I'm very, very tempted. If I ever decide to sell the car I can go back to the Mark lug pattern & put the OEM wheels back on.

I'm really, really tempted now that I have an entire spare set of like new rotors from my donor car.

You can buy my drill template if you want... Let me know if you are interested at all Alex. If you just smacked out your old studs in the back, you could easily swap back and forth between rims.
