Is the 97 tranny case different from the 99? The first one I got was a 98 I thought again found out its a 97. now I have a 99 and the cases are different. What gives? on the 99 the ID says PKE-AX. I have read so much on this board and the other board and I still cant figure it out. In one search article it has the PKE listed but the 2nd letters are AD and I believe AO. can any verify what I have? It has the 1999 US & Canada sticker on it. I could really use some help.

Moes8,
Here are the two tranny's. The one with the ribs on it is supposed to be a 97 out of a Mark. I just thought its odd that they look so different.

ok,i see what you are talking about, anyway

line them up and make sure the bolt up areas are the same,i am sure they casted them differnet over the years,

the one you said is 99 is definately 99-00 based on the tag id

its a great one to install.has mechanical diode clutch and updated valve body,

nice edge tc,wish i had the $ when i did my trans swap for a tc.

oh well, maybe next time

Sorry, I didn't mean sizes. I meant to say cases. They look totally different and I was just wondering why they would change the case on them. I'm guessing my 96 will have a case like the 97? I guess I will find out this weekend.
