I have a rather unique question. Recently we experienced a massive amount of rainfall in a short period of time and the results was a flash flood around my entire neighborhood.

During this time my poor Lincoln was stranded on the driveway and unfortunately the rising flood waters got inside her. I have gotten all the water out of the inside and out of the carpet but what I need to know is what about the differential and tranny fluids??? They should be OK right??

Anybody????? :feedback

They might be OK, they might not. I would definitely change the fluid in both. It can't make it worse.

Check Them

Check the fluids for any signs of water. Most of the vented rears that I have seen will let pressure out, but don't let water in. Not hard to check though. Drive the car a couple of miles or so and check the fluids for milkyness. The rtansmission should be OK. They were not designed to have any fluid infiltration from the outside.

Well personally if it was my car I would put it up on a rack and drain all the fluid and probably replace the gaskets and/or seals on whatever was in question. Better safe than sorry!
