After a long absence the Iceman is back....
Many of you will remember me as "1Iced8," or "Iceman's Revenge," and some of you will have no idea who I am....
My completely custom 95 Mark VIII has been "sleeping" off and on for almost 2 years. She's quietly garaged at my condo. My poor baby has a blown head gasket.
My everyday driver has become a 96 Oldsmobile Aurora- you know the jazzy space ship with the Northstar engine. This car is ok, but it's really starting to bore me. It's in nice shape inside and out, but the car has recently started to stall periodically. I did a little research online and found out that it's not atypical for the big buicks and olds' to have this happen, and it's one of those....no one really knows the cause...could be xyz....but xyz might not fix. Sufficed to say I really don't want to put money into it.
My girlfriend's father just dropped the tranny in his 93 Mark...so I bought the car for $600.
So now I own three cars, and none of them really work right.... :steering
Since I've been out of the game a bit, and vendors, products, and concepts have changed, I'd like some advice on what people would do...
Geno and Chris please chime in here....
Keep in mind I'm also toying with the idea of buying a Gen 2 for my everyday and winter car...
I'm REALLY open minded to opinions and suggestions....
A. Have the engine dropped from the 93 and put in the 95
B. Drop the tranny from my 95...put in the 93
C. Have my original engine built(still need a reliable everyday car)
D. Have the head work done on the 95 and pray it gets done right with the ludicrous timing
etc etc
If I shipped two Mark VIIIs and an Aurora to Jersey what would I get back.. :feedback
