Im about to go outside now and take the stereo out.The stereo (factory) lights up but no sound.Im putting my pioneer in there.I went to walmart to buy the harness and they only sell for mark 84-89.Then another kit for 95-98:confused: Im going to pull it out and see what gives. If I remember correctly all JBL factory equipt stereos have a seperate amp

No your not,

Everyone has questions from time to time, and after posting, finds the answer. Hope you got it figured out.

so...why dont you tell ua what you found out, so it'll help the next guy who is looking for the same answer.

Thats true.If I am correct its in the trunk, drivers side where the keyless entry module is.I have yet to figure out why it isnt producing sound.Im going to buy a bypass adapter to see if it works.Sucks not having tunes!

the amp is up in the truck on a tray
What is the box that an antenna connector plugs into then? Now im all lost, lol. It sits right behind that trap door where you would locate your door entry number

I'm pretty sure you are talking about the air ride control module. That's where your switch is turn the air ride on/off. Is that what you're thinking of?

In 93's the amp should be on a tray under the rear deck, also on that tray is the compass module. Got options? lol

Ok I see it under that tray.See I cant get any sound out of the speakers,Radio works,CD plays etc.No sound.Im assuming the amp is trashed so Im wondering if the bypass plug will even work.I will have to troubleshoot as I go

Are you using the stock radio?

If so, I don't think the bypass will help at all. I'm not sure how much power, if any the factory radio puts out. I'd say your best bet is to replace the amp, they go on ebay pretty often for under 50 bucks. Another option would be use the bypass and buy a new aftermarket radio/cd player.

It'd be nice to test out the amp somehow to know if it's fried, but I don't know how to do that.

Do you have the JBL stereo, or just the Ford Premium? See if the grill on the front door tweeters have JBL on them.

Its the JBL,And I have my Pioneer HU hooked up.I wasnt aware it wouldnt work anyways.Im going to bite the bullet and buy the $50 bypass harness.I would assume continental and TC's amps are the same.I will have to look into it

Na I wasnt sure I needed that I did see it though. Will that work as a bypass harness?Sorry im kind of a NOOB with these setups

That will definitley NOT work as a bypass. Here is what you need to do:

1. Get the bypass harness
2. Hook it up
3. Turn on your radio and listen to some tunes
4. Remove amp(optional)
5. :Beer

Just FYI, the bypass goes back where the amp is/was.

Thats what I thought.I couldnt figure out for the life of me how a bypass harness would work up front.Makes perfect sense to jump it where the amp is,The moron at Best buy was trying to sell me a $50 bypass that he called it that hooks up up front:Bang
