I am looking for some info on the Lincoln LS Owners Association. Is it really worth the membership fee?

There are quite a few LLSOC members who are active over here; Quik is probably the most notable of us, as he is both on the Board of Trustees and the Technical Director of LLSOC.

I think it is worth every penny I've paid, but it is a different environment than LvC. (I'm not sure how I can explain it any differently than that.) There's now guest access to the LLSOC forums, with limited access to a few areas, if you want to get an idea of what's there. (There are several areas of the forums, and several features, that are unavailable to guests, but there's a goodly amount that is available.)

As of now, NO, it is not worth the $40. The store is down, the only helpful thing is the forums and personally I believe the one on this site is THE BEST. However, I heard that when/if the SC is realeased their may be a sizeable discount for LLSOC members.

I cant find that access.

LLSOC and LVC are the largest Lincoln LS resources I am aware of. I was interested (still would be interested actually) in buying LLSOC to combine thier resources and LVCs, but when I approaced The old owner last year he said he wasnt interested.

As I am not a member I cannot say if the membership fee is worthwhile. I have heard good and bad about the site, but as I always point out, every site is not for everybody. You may find it to be worthwhile, you may not. The only way to really know is fork over the $40 and find out first hand.

I am a paid member of both the LLSOC and LvC. I believe in paying for the things I use - hosting and internet are not free.

LLSOC and LvC are very different in style. It is hard too explain but those members of both understand...

The LLSOC has 6 years of working with the LS, Ford engineers posting and most of the posters are older, engineering types....

LvC has many more posts (a lot of repeats), younger group, more posts about stereos, lambo doors, ...etc

Put it this way - almost everything I learned about the LS I learned from the members of the LLSOC. I participate as a member of many car forums (9 of them) but I try very hard to not cross-post threads - I believe if we do that we simply make one car forum and loose what makes them different.

With that said - knowledge is obviously learned and shared - solutions to problems and ideas - which is not a bad thing. I believe there is room for many sites - and that they really are not in competition - but add to eachother.

I Agree Completely.

Ken, that is totally unbelievable! LLSOC is a car club, not a communist government. Now that Gowing is out of the picture, things will probably change.

I think i'll stick to LVC. Since I joined I've yet to have a problem with this site.

I learned quite a bit since then thanks to guys like you,and by the way the HOEN lamps are looking good-nothing but compliments so far!

TAKE CARE....................

I got my money's worth within days of joining. There are lots of resources and many, many very knowlegable members. There's probably not one single LS issue that hasn't been addressed over the years and the answer to virtually any question is as close as the "Search" button. The membership demographic is quite different than other clubs- not better, just different. Due to the fact that most members have "been there, done that" on most mods, the current threads are less active in that category. However, all that info is seachable and is probably documented in the Resources area. The membership fee is less than the cost of a tank of gas and I wouldn't sweat it. As Lou said... I agree with Bill here. I've been a member since 2002 and it's worth every penny IMHO.
