Greetings,

Does anyone know where I can get a New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester 418-F052 or equivalent diagnostic tool, I need to replace the Brake Processor Transducer Sensor on top of the master cylinder to correct an AllTrack malfunction.

Thanks for the info.

new gen's are expensive .. what exactly do u need with it? if u just need to reset a light, any generic code reader will werk.
If u are replacing your "brake PRESSURE transducer sensor" bcuz of a abs or advance trac light. the light will reset its self after it sees all circuits are good and u drive over 15mph.

let me know what yer doing over there :waving:

According to the manual, it says that before the module is removed, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the New Generation STAR (NGS) tester.

ok.. but thats if your goin to replace your ABS module. if your replacing the transducer on the master cylinder.. just replace it.

Are you are sure of this? I don't want to replace the sensor and then find that I have to back to the stealership.

Thanks

Well...you can make a LOT of trips to the "stealership" for what an NGS tester will run you. I've been seeing them for around $3000 for new ones with CAN. Used ones are accordingly cheaper, but may not have the software you need.

I've seen manuals state the module information needs to be uploaded then downloaded into the new module. But I have replaced many modules that called for that and they worked perfectly. I would be more concerned if you were replacing it with a used module. New? You may not need to swap the information. The new module may learn on it's own. Kind of like memory seat modules...the only REAL reason you need to program them is to keep the existing memory information.
