Alright, Window tinting, Since it is illegal in Mass to go under 35% in the front, and the car is new, few miles no problem, im keeping it for a while and i cant afford another ticket or court date because of something stupid ..

So I'm thinking 35 in the from and the back three 20% .. I do have light gray interior, so it does reflect off the light/makes the car brighter inside, so you think its going to look weird with 35 front and 20 in back?

Never was a fan of 2 different percentages, but it's your car, so if that's what you want then go for it. :)

I just think 35% is a waste of money, its not even that dark, and i don't want to go illegal .. Hmm, not quite sure ..

If i go 35, light interior, its like, i dont even have tint lol ..

Yea I have 35% and its just 2 light... Im about to do 20% or 15%

personally i like the 35 all around... gives the car much class. 35 is way more accomodating, than 20. I wish i would have just gone 35 all around, instead of 5. as for your question, yes it looks weird.

I Do On Black Car W/grey Inside I Wish I Went Darker Check Out My Photos

Here are two shots of mine I have 35% on the doors and 20 on the back glass, and the Dove (light gray) interior. Two different sun angles.
And yes I think having different tints for front and rear door glass looks funny.

if you do 35% in the front and 5 in the back the reflection will make it appear as the fronts are dark. thats how i had it on my towncar but you can tell the difference clearly if you stand beside the car

Like Owlman - I two have two different tints - we both have to pass yearly inspection...

looks fine.

ya man I think there is no problem with two different percentages. In fact, I almost like it better.... I think it gives some contrast.

Who does the inspection? That sounds like a lot of work for the state (if it is the state regulating it). Sucks regardless.

If your front door windows and your back door windows have different tint on them it will look funny. If the rear glass and the doors are different it will be fine (as long as all 4 doors are the same) no one will notice. Here are a couple pics of my car, it is black with 35% all the way around and dove/shale interior. The 35% is pleanty for me, if it were any darker I would have trouble seeing at night.

Hello!
It is my first visit to the site and I am 21 years old ang just purchased my first 2000 Lincoln Ls with only 43000 miles original. I live in downtown Baltimore in a pretty bad neighborhood and I have been pulled over 7 times since I purchased the car in May. maybe it is because I am a female in a black lincoln with 20" casino rims. I have only received a repair ticket for tint. I had 25 in the front and 20 in the back so I had to rip it off. I recently had to put 30 on it. I also got the thick strip on the windshield which makes the car apprear a little. because the police profile me once a week I had to go legal. You have to do what you have to do.

I also have a Altima with 5% and it did not last a week. It looked great but it got a repair ticket and it also helped some boys rob my 12" rockford fostgate speaker and my 1200 rockford amp get stolen.

Here is an idea..this is what I did with my Ls and all my previous cars...I put either 5 or 15 on the very back window and 35 on all the sides and 50 on the windshield! Makes the sides look much darker yet still legal ;)

I'd put 20% all around if your not ridin dirty...I haven't tinted my ls yet but my gtp was 20 all around it was nice. The worse I got was a verbal warning to cut off my tint or he said he'd give me a ticket next time(he was a dick cuz i was going 70 in a 40)...was never pulled over again.

I have the same setup on my car. Not for yearly inspections, but I just don't want to deal with getting pulled over. BTW I had my tint on for 2 years and never got stopped until I put the 20s on.... Got pulled over twice in 3 months after that - both times got a warning for my tint!

:bowrofl:

According to the state highway patrol, I have 30% front doors and 3% rear doors and rear window. I'll do my best to snap a picture for you tomorrow as long as I don't hear any shlt for my car being too dirty. Which it is, but that's beside the point....

Here's a picture that kind of shows the windows but I was more trying to show the LS's towing ability.

thanks guys for the pictures and help.

I might just do 35 around and the very back window 20% or 5%
