Ok this might be a logical question but I cant find anyone to help me
How to know if your valve cover is blown without pulling it
1st? will there be smoke ie.. the valve cover area the exhaust
2nd? wont the car be burning oil (atleast on the dip stick)? just wondering I here its pretty common with the 02 ls6 :feedback
thanks for the help

usually the leaks are very small and you will not notice the drain on your dipstick.

They are two ways to look for leaks:
- see oil leaking around the exterior of the gasket onto your block
- see oil leaking around the COPs

For me I could smell a slight scent of burning oil as I drove. That is pretty much all I said to the dealer and they discovered(knew) what the problem was. Hopefully you still are under warranty, if so I would have them check it out.

i had no idea my valve cover was leaking...then took it to the shop for the misfire and at last!!! there was the problem

sorry - right COPs are Coil-On-Plugs.

Common issue is the valve cover leaking and oil getting on the COP causing a misfire.

ok that makes sense well i ask them about it and they said they would look at it and nothing!!! they did not due a damn thing but keep my car for 2 days and void my warr. and pulled out all my wiring and plumbing on the nitrous and i called them back for 3 weeks now and nothing so tomorrow im going to call ford and bitch!!!!
