Can someone post this procedure so I can change the code for my '97 Continental?

Thanks

Enter the factory code (can be found in the trunk, owners manual and there are a few other locations)
Press the 1/2 Button within 5 seconds
Then enter your new 5 digit code

i dont know the keypay code also, but i dont know where to look for it, i bought a scrapper 94 and the key wont work in the locks outside can anyone help me reprogram it. i know it works because if you press the last two buttons it will lock.

they keyless controller on the 94 is inside the trunk, mounted to the rear of the back seat. that will have the permanent (factory) code on a sticker stuck to it. use that and the previously posted instructions to program the user code.

i found this sticker everyone is talking about in two places but when i try to enter it in nothing happensa after.

after entering the 5 digit code, the drivers door will unlock (regardless of whether or not its already unlocked) as a confirmation of the proper code being accepted. if its not doing this, then the numbers are wrong (someone took apart the controller and reprogrammed it), or bad keypad (in theory its possible a bad keypad will still lock the doors but other numbers not work right), or not being entered quickly enough (well, within about 5-8 secs total time for the code).

it could be that the code on the trunk hinge and a couple other places is wrong if the controller has been changed, thats why I mentioned looking at the controller itself.

it is possible to change that code, but requires removing and disassembling and soldering inside the controller to do so.

and since you bought one from a scrap yard I assume (you got a scrapper you said), there is no telling what may have been changed out or isn't working right.

Excuse me if I sound like an idiot but I have to ask because nothing is working so far...

When I type the door code in, do I press the 1/2 button twice for a 2 or just once?

I am sorry to bring this topic back from the dead... Thank you for your help!
