Door Lock Actuator Problems?

My 06 Lincoln LS has been having some problems with the front passenger door. The cars dash will intermittently say "Passenger door open" and it beeps erratically and goes off and on until it randomly stops or the car dies. Usually the latter. Its caused my battery to crap out now and I need help diagnosing the problem before buying another one on Ebay because the dealership wants 350$ for a new one.

I think it is caused by the door lock actuator and that its wiring is jacked up. So is it definitely my door lock actuator or may it be another part that im not aware of?

Question 2) If I buy a door lock actuator off an 03 will it fit my 06?

1. It could be the wiring, but it is probably the latch assembly.
2. Certainly should.
