Aloha all,

I've been researching for a few hours now and cannot seem to find anywhere that sells the little covers on the courtesy lights in the door panel. If anyone could help point me in the right direction, I'm looking for one for the passenger door.

Thanks,

Ian.

car year and model?

dealership or junk yard or look on criagslist for someone parting out the car. Some of the parts used in the Lincoln are used in other Ford vehicles during similar years.

Gen I only. They didn't put them on gen II.

You know, I went in the garage and looked at my LS and not my daughter's.

In that case he would need a new door panel.

I know exactly what he's talking about because the one on my passenger side door is broke as well. One of the little tabs that holds it in place snapped. Best bet like mentioned above is ebay or a junk yard from another door panel.

You got it. Unfortunately, There are about 10 Lincoln LS models here on the island of Oahu, none of them being junked. Oh and there is only one Ford/Lincoln Dealership so you can imagine how fun it is to get OEM stuff.

I found a thread where someone discussed this and they referred to a "max"? Some parts guru on the mainland.

I'll keep trying online but no luck as of now. Thanks for all the input though.

Update:

Here are some pics for future reference:

Unfortunately Max retired.

Craigslist

check out craiglist for part outs in different cities and ask if they will mail you the parts, i bet many will do it.

If the lens is in tact, you can glue it back in place. I did that to my driver side. Cant tell it was ever broken.

yeah, I mean why not, little dab of clear silicone around the edge, hold it in place with some tape until it dries and be done with it already.

That is of course if the lens is in one piece, from what it appears to be in the pic provided.

Just a note, if anyone does decide to do this, just go with good ol' super glue. Gorilla Glue works great, however a little pokes through the clear lenses when it expands. Not a big deal but just for future reference. Thanks for all the input.

Hmmm, I beg to differ, now how you gonna change the bulb easily without cracking things apart.
Now had you used clear silicone ... it would come apart clean if you ever had to change the bulb.

but, whatever!

Take the door panel off to change it. That's how I did it anyways. I wasn't about to try to take that off and break it.

So I just put LEDs in a 2000 LS courtesy lights and the housings were SO brittle that both sides broke. Just by turning the light socket to remove it the housing cracked in the drivers side but it's still in there, the passenger side was even worse, the whole housing just broke into Tons of pieces and completely fell out, now there's nothing there to even support the bulb, took the left over pieces of plastic and barely gripped it at all and it broke even more, probably the most brittle plastic I have ever seen in my life. Hopefully the LS at my local pull-a-part has these housings left in it!
