So check this out... I'm doing my daily search for Mark VIII on ebay when I come across a listing for parts off of what is plainly a late 70s Mark V, but they're labeled as "Mark VIII". I send the seller the following message:
Hello,
I just wanted to inform you that the listing you have for the Mark VIII parts should all be marked as Mark V. The Mark V was made in the late 70s and the Mark VIII was in the late 90s. You may not get any hits with your parts listed as Mark VIII. I just wanted to let you know.
This is the reply I got (and in this font size):
WTF!
If you look at his other auctions and search for Mark VIII, he does indeed have other Mark VIII parts, so I'm guessing he thinks Lincoln just used the Mark VIII name for everything. In any case, that's last time I try to be helpful. LMAO
