Hi there everybody. Has anyone ever lost the function of the door switch on their mark? Mine seems to have stopped working:( . The interior lights no longer come on when the driver door is opened from the inside, no chime if the key is left in the ignition and no chime if the lights are left on with the door open. I also noticed the suspension does not trim down after shutoff until I open and close the passenger door, I'm assuming since this is now the only input the computer gets after the car is shut down. It seemed to work intermittently over a period of a few days and now it seems to bee completely gone. One other question...does the signal from this switch pass through the ignition switch at some point?

Solved

I pulled the switch and had a look. Corrosion was setting in for sure. A thorough cleaning of the contacts and VOILA...my lights were back. To anyone else who runs into this problem, I reccomend just twisting the plunger on the switch while it's still in place. This will cause the 3 contact points to rub against the common ground and possibly clean the contacts without physically removing the switch. Although, re and re is a nothing job in this case, less work is always better ;)
