hey guys...umm i have a question...anyone know where i can get really good parts for my front end,and a reasonable price..due to major pot holes in my area..(RRRRRRRR) i have been hear'n lil squeeak and rrrk noises from the front and when the wheel is turned a certain way..i know it gotta be from the pot holes...you know we all spend tons of money on taxes..why in hell doesnt the town hurry and fix this:soapbox::Bang me up?...(im thinkin on sending them the bill for damages caused by the damn pot holes.:F)...anyways...im asuming it's my bushings and lower and upper arm controls....so guys can you hook me up???

Don't use Ford parts their rubber sucks. I got Moog upper control arms and servicable lower ball joints. The rubber is much better and the lower ball joint from Moog uses a synthetic material that will last far longer than Fords crap. My '97 Mark VIII has 42,000 Florida miles on it and the lower ball joint rubber was obliterated. The rest of the bottom of the car looks like it just rolled off the assmebly line......yes its that clean.

Upper control arm $72/ea. Thats with the joint and new bushings.
Lower ball joint $26/ea.

BTW they both have lifetime replacement warranties from Advance/Discount Auto. Try getting that from Ford!!

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the Moogs. Every Mark I have had I've had to replace all the front end stuff. Seems to wear out way too fast which is why I'm paying attention to what you said about the rubber.

The statement, "Ford's rubber is crap" comes from my mechanic who to my advantage used to own a Mark VIII himself so he knows it inside and out and upside down. :dancefool

if your going to get bushings... go with polyurethane bushings. my rear end bushings are polyurethane.

I got my Moog partsfrom Rock Auto
K874 & K873 Lower Control Arm Complete with Bushing & Ball J. 110.79 ea
K8680 Bushing Strut Rod to Lower Control arm @ 20.79
K8659 Bushing Strut to Frame @ 36.79
K8635 Sway Bar Link Kit (2 Reqd) @38.79 ea.

Hope this helps. I got my rebuilt front struts from Eddie at American Suspension. @165.00 ea.

The stut rod Bushings are of a Plastic compond from Moog. Also Moog and the TRW brand are under Federal Mogul who ownes both operatations.
