Hey guys,
I did a little searching, and wasnt able to find anything but I had a question. Has anyone ever tried or know where I could get a spray dye in a can to do my headliner in black? The headliner is immaculate, just trying to dye it. Any advise is appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

My advice is dont do it!!! Dye will make it stiff and look like :q:q:q:q. Ive been quoted 120.00 for my headliner recovered in suede and 25.00 for each visor. To do it in the stock looking fabric i was quoted 100.00 and 25.00 each visor.

go to this site ball2ufall.com you can order some black suede material by the yard. i think its 49.99 a yard.

yeah + 1 i did it dan, when i bought my black 93 with mocha, i swapped everything in the car to black, except the car i bought as the black gut doner had a moonroof, my 93 didnt, so i couldnt use the headliner from the doner, instead i sprayed my mocha headliner with black dye, what a mistake, the dye just crumbles off, you dont even have to touch it, first trip i made with the new black interior and windows down it was like someone was throwing crap in my eyes, what a mess. i waited long enough and finally got a parts car with black gut and no moonroof i stole the headliner out of it. shops around my area will do a headliner for $50-80 bucks if you take it down and bring it to them.

Well i didnt hit the headliner with it but i used it on the carpet of the doors and center console and it came out beautiful... Duplicolor Vinyl and fabric

I tryed the same thing on my carpet, center console and kick panels using black Dupli-color dye and it will rub off. My interior is black and tan now.....

You should not put any type of dye on headliner. Just recover it. If you were around here I could have my dad do it for a good price. He's done everything from my beater ranger to cars in major car shows such as Autorama.

I have a black one to get rid of but it has no moonroof hole. Nothing wrong with it at all. It came out of a 93 non smoker car.

all it is, is some nice fabric you picked out with some adhesive spray blow drying it as you're laying the fabric down onto the sticky headliner and use a razor blade to cut out any holes or edges...work from one corner to the next working in the curves and humps

How much do you want for it. My car doesn't have a sunroof.

Do you have a 93? I ask because the dome lights aren't in the same places. I'll let you have it for $30 and the shipping will be coming from 35758 and if shipped to you, I would prefer it to be in a box that's thin and fits the headliner. I'll get a pic of it for you.

I recently dyed my ivory headliner black, no regrets...no issues.....clean, quick, simple, and CHEAP

Super easy to recover - I think it cost me $40 to do mine.

Here's my t-bird redo.

Cleaning off the old headliner. Use a stiff nylon brush, wire brush for the stuff that doesn't want to come off.

Cleaned and ready for new.

Spray glue on 1/2 of the fabric and the base.

Covered.

More of it covered - used a steamer to help get out any spots that weren't as smooth.

Installed. Its been in since Sept of last year, and no issues at all (and the cars been sitting)

I posted some photos in my thread on how I recovered my visors.
