Hi all! glad to have found this forum. i would LOVE a few questions answered for me concerning my 2003 ls V8... ok here they are...

1. My brake rotors and pads need to be replaced. i looked on ebay and found this kit. are they reputable? would you all recommend them? based on their feedback they seem solid.

2. Secondly, the "service parking brake" text is on. first of all, is this a common problem? the brake seems to engage properly but has trouble disengaging. is there something i can try to fix it?

3. If i am not able to fix my parking brake myself and have to take it to a dealer, should i put my new brake rotors on first or wait until their parking brake is fixed?

THANKS a ton to anyone that helps me here!

I can't comment on the quality of the eBay items you mentioned. I think otheres here have used those products, but I have no personal knowledge about them.

I would guess that your rotor/pad issue is related to the parking brake issue. If it was my car, I'd take it to the dealer and fix both issues at the same time. However, if you're going to do the work yourself, I would attack the rotors/pads first, then see if that fixes the parking brake problem. If not, you can always take it to the dealer.

One issue you should be aware of is that the calipers on these brakes sometimes sticks. This might be the cause of the disengagement problem you described. If you do the work yourself, make sure you clean out the slide that allows the calipers to move smoothly. Otherwise, you may burn up your new pads.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

I had recently purchased the pads/rotors from rotorworks on ebay. Shipping was very fast. They work great and look really nice. I had painted the calipers when doing the swap.

Last time I bougth ceramic brake pads from them for my BMW they were no good. They dust just like the OEM ones.
