EEC III Why is so hard to find information on it?

I have a 83 continental with the EEC III system in it. I've changed out the crank sensor, ign. module and coil and I have no spark until the circuit is broken as the key is turned off. At this point I can only check for power and continuity.
The car belongs to a friend and I use it as a slow time filler but its become a priority with winter and space becoming a problem. Got data or know where to get it. It would be more than appreciated.

i dont know if this will help but , http://www.bbbind.com/ has online schematics free under the technical information tab , then click on technical service bulletins &wiring diagrams . i hope this helps
