Effects of not cleaning off new rotor surface?

I had new FRONT bendix rotors and ceramic pads put one. The mechanic replaced the clips that the pads "sit in" and lubed everything. But I looked and he did not wipe/clean of the rotor surface. Also with these do I need to be easy on the brakes for a certain period of time or whatnot?

i didn't clean my rotors when i put them on and they still work fine... just drive like you normally drive only thing different is you will stop a bit faster
