EGR replacement - how did you get the #2 bolt out

2000 LS V6. Need to replace the EGR valve. One bolt is easy. One obstructed. I have a zillion sockets and curved wrenches but before I go further - how did you guys get the #2 bolt out?

I was able to access the bolt by pulling the upper intake.

Don't think that's the EGR valve but I was able to access the bolt by pulling the upper intake.
The EGR valve on the V6 is on the front of the intake. Follow the vacuum lines that run from the part you posted. One line will go to the EGR valve
