I need to clean my EGR valve but What would happen if I don't fix it for a while? Any thing that can cause more trouble by not fixing it?

Thanks

Yeah I get the check engine light when I go over 3000 rpm. That is a old pics but now the tire is on the right way. The lincoln dealership was going to take 1100 for cleaning and replacing parts. Can any one tell me about what the EGR is and where it is located in the engine?

Wait, are you sure he didn't say "IMRC" instead of "EGR"?

Can any one tell me about what the EGR is and where it is located in the engine?

EGR is acronym for "Exhaust Valve Recirulator". It takes exhaust gases and recirculates them into the intake manifold. The result is a slightly lower combustion temperature that reduces "NoX" emissions.

i JUST TALKED TO THE GUY IN THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND HE SAID IT WAS YOUR IMRC.
SO HOW MUCH WILL IT COST AND WILL IT HARM MY CAR?

You can do it yourself. Just remove the intake manifold, remove the IMRC's, douche them with throttle cleaner, and you're done. $1,100 for that? Highway robbery. Bitch-slap the dealer and prepare yourself for a weekend project...

I don't know any thing about the engine, so can you tell me where the intake manifold is and the IMRC. Sorry if I am taking to much time of your's
