My wife's LS is special.... needs coils, valve cover gaskets, and now??? With the key turned to "on" everything works fine... when started driver's side seat, all windows, mirrors, do not work... just started the other day.... 2000 with 87,000, V-8... must be a circuit breaker??? but which one? Love the ownwer's manual...SPSC??? Thanx for any help... oh also love the clunk in the front end... too bad the car rides and looks so good.

Definately sounds like a fuse blown problem, one or maybe more. Not sure if the windows are on the same circuit as the seats and mirrors, you'll have to check the owners manual. The front end clunk is mentioned else where in this forum, i believe the poster said it was the ball joints or sway bar bushing... cant remember.
I belive theres also a topic that tells you how to replace the COPs on the V8, so you should take some time if available and look over the below topics.

BTW, Welcome to LVC. Don't get discouraged on the LS just yet, its a great car!! :Beer

yes I know but which fuse???

I know it's possibly a circuit breaker/fuse but I can't figure out which one from the manual. thanks for the reply though. My wife has owned this car for 3 years... still a great car but it's too bad Lincoln/Ford didn't stand behind it. It's a foreign car next....Too Bad Detroit!!!

The power mirrors and driver power seat are controlled the the drivers seat module, make sure the connectors under the seat have not become unplugged. The drivers door module controls drivers window (maybe all of them I can't remmeber without looking) possibally networked the the drivers seat module for power mirrors, and if seat controls are on the door possibally networked for that also. You may say things can not be unplugged because it works in KOEO, but I've seen weirder things.

Check fuses, grounds and for damaged wires in the doorjam. Also check seat module connectors as stated above.

EDIT:

Check ALL the fuses, many times one module will have 3 or more fuses powering it, controlling only certain functions of a module.

Ignition switch problem maybe?

Be careful on that clunk. A lot of people have found it to be just a sway bar bushing or end-link, but I found mine to be the ball joints.

My 94 140,000, M8s door ajar msg will not turn off - I will check all the boxes you listed - mind if I hit you up if my door stays a jar? Funny enough, the msg cntr display has been coming in and out lately, any ideas on that? Display dims then goes out or just goes - but only the msg center display, all other dash lights stay on and the msg center even "dongs" if a valid msg occurs. Oh one more thing, the drivers seat does not automat. go forward or reverse when entering the car with remote programmed seat adjustments or when pushing the back of the front seat forward to enter the back seat, that is the only malfunction, all other adjustments of the seat move fine with manual adjustment to the left side seat mounted controls. Any insight you could shed me and my pocket will appreciate! Thanks and God Bless

The door adjar switches is any easy fix, just spray the latches with WD-40 or some other lube, mainly the upper portions of the latch where the switch is.

The message center display is probably a bad I/C, radios are known for doing it also.

On the automatic seats, are you pressing a keyfob after setting your seat positions? You need to position the seat, press set, a keyfob button, then the number of the program.

Found #7 5A fuse in the passenger kick panel blown.... new fuse and I'm back in business... now to replace that valve cover gasket and the coils this weekend....
