Electronic shift improver

I have one installed on my car but it is disabled because I added a SCT chip last fall which made me disconnect the improver...it works great in my opinion...three settings stock, street, strip...easy to install. It really increases the trans pressure in street and strip mode for a very pronounced hard shift in second and third gear. I think they are only $35...I am thinking of installing on my DD.

Cool, thanks. It sounds like for the money it may be worth a try.

I did find a site that says you can use it and the j-mod together.

Just looking for a way to firm up the shifts without tearing into the trans too far or shortening its life. The j-mod doesnt look too complicated though.

I don't have a j-mod on my car but I do have a built trans with a stage 2 shift kit etc....I did use it with my stock trans and like I said it did firm up the shifts plus it has a stock mode for everyday driving...gives you more options than a mechanical mod.

J-Mod is a 1 hour job from start to finish, give or take a few minutes. It pro-longs the life of the trans and it is extremely cheap to do if you have tools. Two valve body gaskets and the right drill bits, cordless drill and something to remove the steel burr from where you drilled and put it back together. If you want a real firm 2nd gear, remove the bottom spring out of the 1-2 accumulator (not recommended) and you'll be set without any electronics added to worry with. A lot less money spent also.

Oh ok thanks :)...... j-mod and a tune.

No brainier... best part of having a gen 2, and any pre 98 trans with a 160k is living on borrowed time.

If you beat it I hope you have a good pair of walking shoes.
