Im thinking of replacing my factory black emblems with a color just not sure what color to go with. can u post pics of your different color emblems. right now im leaning towards the silver, orange or red. Insight? oh yeah my ls is a black ls8

The red looks sweet with the black grill and black car but I think the silver would look nice also. I'm not sure how much I would like the orange unless you have more orange on the car to help tie it all in.

I really feel like the old guy of the group expressing my opinion but things like this is what really cheapens the Lincoln LS. Maybe its Fords fault for keeping this body style around for so long but they are making it a "Kids car". We have guys dragging LS's and autocrossing the LS. Its a shame that that's what a 40k plus vehicle has come to. Colored badges and emblems should be left to the imports. Keep the LS classy! And Orange on a vehicle?? OMG!! Is it a Boss 302 Mustang? :bash:

last time i checked it was my car, my money, and my freedom to what ever makes me happy. its not that youre the old guy in the group it just that everyone has different opinions and each person likes different styles and we all an drive our ls any way we want. weither it be autocross, dragging, or even lifting the ls 44" and puttn some 33" tires on it and going offroading. this forum is for each person to express themselves through, your right a 40$ car, and its things like colored emblems that make us all friends. if u leave a car stock it may seem boring or cool to your likings but right now i want colored emblems on my ls so that what im gonna get. but thanks for your insight, its noted in my books.

I am personally thinking about going with blue emblems and painting the calipers blue when I get some time.

The red or silver would look good, I just wanted to do something different than what most are doing.

I got red emblem, check my garage.
I think it looks really nice.

Reading through some of your previous threads........you seem to be rather condescending to the younger generation. Such remarks as "IMHO if you bought one of these cars (up to $44k) you better be able to afford to have someone work on them. Mean no disrespect but the more they cost, the harder they are to work on" and the aforementioned quote regarding the grill emblems aren't constructive criticism. So although you are very careful to state your "opinion" and your attention to a "no disrespect policy," you are in fact doing exactly that: disrespecting. So in my "opinion" lay off the "kids" that want to buy a Lincoln LS and let them have some fun with it. If everyone had stock LS's, then they would be just that: stock LS's. It should be a compliment to the LS nameplate when aftermarket companies and entrepreneurs are taking notice and offering products for your the LS. Although, here is one suggestion for you.........if you don't want (in your opinion) anyone messing with their LS's, then maybe you should buy them all in an effort to stop the spread of individuality.

Not sure how individualizing a LS cheapens it. Hell, most of the mods are quite expensive.

It's a 'shame' that people are autocrosing LS's? What are you talking about? How many Porches, BMWs and whatever other brands are racing cars with a MINIMUM of 40k? But I suppose that THOSE cars are accepatble to perform such acts by their enthusiasts.

Did you ever notice that a lot of manufacturers are now including parts as OEM that were previously designed by aftermarkets due to the demands of these 'kids'?

You and I might get along though.. my LS emblems are still black. On second thought, I doubt it. I have 34 PSI in my tires, 33 is stock. There goes another friendship.

But of course, this is my opinion.

Hey, if anybody has a problem with customizing LS's they need to look at Ken (Grayghost) and Lou's (QuikLS) babies...that should change your mind.

LOL!!! You really took things the wrong way. Im only 38 with a family of 5 kids and a beautiful wife. IM NOT THAT OLD!! You should have seen my mustangs in the 80's and 90's!! I was the "KID" your parents hated for setting off their car alarms on the way to work at 5am. Rattling your windows with 2 chamber flowmasters and 4 12's in the trunk of a convertible. I've been there and done that. Lincoln happened to make a "Middle of the road car" that appeals to a very diverse group and there is nothing wrong with that. Thats why I bought one. I love this car. Hate the fact that I paid 27k for it and it'll be worth half that in 2 years or so. Not a problem. Same can be said for my Mustangs and and 95 Lincoln Mark VIII. IT IS JUST MY OPINION that some cars have a certain amount of "HANDS OFF" and others dont. I love what Quik is doing. Not sure what Ken is doing. And I stand by my statement saying if you pay for a car that originally costs as much as a NEW LS in any year then you should be able to afford the maintanence. I remember paying 1200 to have the airbag suspension replaced on my Mark VIII. I couldnt afford that when I owned my first 2 mustangs. Plus I have no idea how old the guuy was that asked. It applied to any Lincoln owner. Ask a Jaguar owner how much the pay for work on their vehicles. Chill people. LET EVERYONE HAVE THEIR OPINION! Validate the saying that says "Opinions are like....... Everyone has one!"

and thats all I have to say about that....

im gonna at my last 2 cents to this whole arguement, since apparently my thread about the emblems offended some... sorry one of the old timers. im a 21 year old (kid compared to u, maybe) but i wake up at 7 in the morning, put my pants on the same way u do, get in my ls and go work 10 hard hours, i come home in my ls and i pay my bill on time. whos to say who can own or do what they want to a car. im not rich by anymeans, i just like to own a nice car and make people think i am. i get a sense of pride knowing i own something that some 50 year olds cant afford, i also get a sense of pride installing what ever mod i wish to put on it. as stated b4 everyone has an opinion, but some are better left un said.
backto the original thread i still havent seen any black ls' wioth silver emblem on a mclarren grill. any pics
also im sorry if anyone got offended by dark.. or for that matter me. "cant we all just get along" :)

You are contradictoring yourself by saying some opionions shouldnt be stated. Who knows... In 6 months (or sooner or later) I might find the emblems cool. I didnt state it as fact. I stated it as opinion. There were alot of older Mustang owners that didnt like what I was doing in the 80's and 90's. And answering your Rodney King question.... Yes we can all get along. Lets start now.

and thats all I have to say about that....

BTW name the movie Im quoting from for fun!! :Beer

Funny you should mention Lincoln trying to hit the younger crowd (if you consider early 40's young) with the LS. But hey, what is this I hear about Cadillac trying to do the exact same thing with their Nissan Maxima cloning CTS? Hmmmmmmmm. And what about the Catera? What was up with that? I guess if you like Geo Prisms you'd be right in there with the best of them. Don't get me wrong, I love Japan.........just not on my American luxary cars. :L

I'm old too (32), but I drag my (bone stock) LS and I hope to autocross it soon. Look at it this way: you paid for the whole car, but if you don't race it, you're not using the whole car. You paid for that great performance, might as well use it. God knows you can't do it on the road (unless you're an idiot 17-year-old).
