Engine number/ID location

Hi all, I just bought a Lincoln LS 2001 in Mexico and I need to know the Engine number for the car insurance. Do you know where is this number located?

I believe you are referring to the VIN number? On my Gen II, it is located on below the windshield on the driver side. Not sure if it is the same for GEN I.

Yup. All VINs are lower left on the of the dash.

I'm not referring to the VIN. In other cars/makers there are an Engine Number that is graven in the engine metal. Like in this image:



Maybe, Lincoln doesn't use these numbers for the engines. I would like to know if that is correct in order to put N/A in the form. Or do you have seen these type of numbers in your LS?

On the GenIIs there's an engine code info label on or near the valve cover. Not sure on the GenI.
