Well as I was on my way home from my girl's house this morning, a message on the message center came up "Check Engine Temp" so I looked at the gauge and it was right under the "H". so I was flippin' out and got home in a hurry... I popped the hood and engine coolant was bubbling out of the cap on the engine coolant storage thing.... any ideas of what the heck is goin on?

Easy to replace...

Actually, the thermostat housing is kinda tough to reach in this car, and if you've gone a long time without turning the bolts on that thing, you may end up having to remove it from the car to get it open.

I did, and the bolts were on there so tight that I needed a vice to hold the thing while I torqued them free.

Simple to do, but not necessarily easy.

*I* Have never had a problem swapping thermostats on these cars. I've owned 3 marks, and have friends with marks, as well as a few cobras. I understand I MAY be the exception, but I found all of em, easy.

It also helps to have the right tools.

Mine was overheating and bubbling and all I did was flush it and refill, using the center fill tube. Turns out I just had some air in the system. Has run fine the past month.

I had the same problem on mine. Even with all the right tools..those bolts felt like they were gonna break in the housing.

And yeah, I agree...stuck thermostat.
