Ok sweet and simple I have spent days.....I mean that too. I need help finding someone who makes Main and rod bearrings for an 01 LS. dont say the dealer cause they dont. ANYONE........

cammerfe could possibly point you in the right direction...

you either by a load block from the dealer, a used block from a yard, or custom make....

thanks

Hey thank you Quick thats what I came up with as well. Block is going to Teaxs "PrecisionEngine" they did my SHO and i was happy. But are pricey 3300 to port heads deck block blaba. they are going to redo the bottom end for me. If I may bother you one more time I have two Q's

1) How much Nos can the stock 3.9 take and be use repeatedly.
2) What are the stock crank rods and pistons made of. ie.. cast, forged, steel??

A general rule of thumb is up to 50% on a stock application so, that would be 125. Quite a few people on here have run a 100 shot anywhere between 1-3 years or more. Some switched over to turbos and superchargers after that, while myself and some others bumped up to the 125 shot.
How long it lasts all depends on how careful you are setting it up and monitoring it during use, and safety interlocks, and your driving and frequency of use. Some of its luck too, hoping you didnt get a weak rod or piston from the factory. I believe they are powdered rods, not as good as forged. Pistons and crank I also believe are the same, but I'm sure the crank is not an issue. I bet rods go first, then pistons, assuming you are running proper A/F ratios.

Refuseing to give up

Ok so I refuse to give up. I dont buy the corprate BS of you cant have these kinda parts. I also refuse to give up $4,000 for a short block. So I did research and guess what guys you can get these parts. It took a week to get to the bottom of it But I know where the 3.9 is made and by who. Also did some legale research. Did you know for FED laws state automakers must make all parts avabile for 10 years. They have too no if and or buts about it.
When Quick says its ok to post the names and numbers you need to do your own rebild I will. O and after mine are on the way then you guys can start the hounding.

And you all can make fun of my spelling if you want I dont care!!!

Call 248 931 0358 Ask for Barry. He can undoubtedly take care of bearing supply. Rods are powdered metal, pistons are cast aluminum. Crank is cast iron. Probably the first failure would be piston ring-land collapse. PROBABLY engine would work with a 150 shot if everything is RIGHT.

<whistles> :shifty:

are you doing a simple rebuild or going 'all out'?

I ran 100shot for a year - went through nearly 60 bottles... after I did the math - I stopped and started working on the supercharger....

Sully want to run 350shot - I'm hoping 200 of that is Candian Club.

Around here we use Patron Silver 3-4 shots is good!!!!!!!!!!

If I thought for a second the car could handle it I would. I'm pretty sure with the jets I have now I can chase down some 12's this year. I'm getting really close to my turbo though so idk how much i want to spend on juice.

turbos and 'spray' go together like PB & J. If you set up to do both you'll go around with a very big smile!
