Engine swap for a 86 Deville

Is there any other engine that I can swap for the original V-8 it came with. It runs great but a V-6 would be a lot better on gas. Any help would greatly be appreciated before I try to overhaul it.

The cost of a different engine (that also may need freshening up) with the required modifications to the car (not to mention the cost of a new transmission) will never be paid off with gas savings. If you want a more fuel efficient car, you may wish to sell yours and buy another.
