I'll start out by saying I rarely participate in forums. I own a 2003 LS V6 and have picked up a few tips from this forum so in return I will give back as much as I can as time permits. I am about as mechanically inclined as they come. I do not claim to know everything but I do know a lot about a lot of things. Jack of all trades if you will. I am very hands on as well.
I'm a former automotive mechanical engineer. I have been involved with tier 2 & 3 automotive component design since 1998. Prior to my engineering career I was a union carpenter and was in the process of getting my electricians license. (2+ year apprentice in 1988-1991)
In 2010 I was fallout from the economic & automotive down turn. I was unemployed for 6 months. During that time I fell back on my youthful skills rebuilding motors, changing out head gaskets and of course fixing my Lincoln as we all know the are always in need of something. I was also doing electrical work on the side. After 6 months of manual labor and feeling my age I landed a job and the 3rd largest office furniture manufacturer in the world where mechanical and electrical engineering were required.
I am hoping I am able to contribute as much as I get out of joining this forum and am looking forward meeting new Lincoln friends.
For the record I like my Lincoln because it looks good but that is the extent of my appreciation. I think it was a very poorly designed car that was sort of thrown together. I do however enjoy a challenge and since I do not owe anything on it I plan to run it it until falls to the ground and at this point I can only assume judging by the amount of work I have already done to it, I will be wrenching on it up to the last chunk of rust hits the earth.
