If anyones in a pinch for a cheap fix for your rusted out EVAP tray here is cheap fix from Walmart. It is almost the perfect size other than the width being about 5" short and trimming your connection hose between cans by 4" your good to go. The pan costs $5 and some strap steel also try putting holes in pan for drainage and if you want to plastidip bottom (I didn't) that would be a good idea.

Haha, I could totally see myself doing this. I would've painted it though. ;) I like your ingenuity.

My tray's fine but the front mounting bracket thing rusted out and left it hanging. I inserted a 4"~ bolt and a 2-2.5" washer (Help disperse the weight) through one of the bottom holes on the underside of the tray and up into where the spare tire is. There is a rubber grommet dead center that I poked a hole through. In the trunk I made a 5x2" support bracket (metal plate w/ a hole drilled through the center). Once the plate was made all I had left to do was insert that over the bolt and top it off with a nut. I think the same could be used for a diy tray.

Just a different way of mounting is all.
