I just want all here to treat him like their son or younger brother. He is young does not know everything but loves his mk8. Guys lets try to work with him more and teach him, not belittle. We are bigger then that here. Rock on guys,

I'll help him where I can...you can count me in! I know how it is to be the new guy.

+1 here . have been helped by others before and know that some of the comments will be looked at in a different way. jd

you dont have to im fine with the bashing i start out rough but as i get used to forums and pace my self i can hold my own language wise grammar and punctuation wise no my worst subjects

Me too, everyone was the new guy around here once. Although some of us may be more knowledgeable than others were all here to help each other and learn together. I am also a youngin(20 yrs. old) on here, I've learned most of the stuff I know from my father, growing up as a kid. I guess the point i'm trying to make is that sure were all here to help each other out, but there is room for busting each others chops lets just not over do that part:p

Just my .02$

i taught my self everything.with cars my dad was a dead beat all his life i didnt have him in my life till i was turning 18 before then i seen him maybe twice hes been working on cars all his life he wonders how i learned so easily by teaching my self its fun getting to put him to work tho if i want to get a job done quicker makes him make up for all the years i still love him though

He also did mention that he's ADHD and autistic, so it may explain his writing style.

its this kind of thinking that has allowed our culture to degrade into what it has. please dont do it anymore. please. please. you need to recognize the text ghetto i didnt pay attention in school. everyone else types this way so im gonna do it too because, mtv is where i received my diploma problem.

not only should we kind of listen to right on the mark and help guide someone who has a passion for their ride. We should also help correct the super wrong style of communication that he has displayed. it would be mean and unfair of us not to and to allow it to continue. I am sure no one here wants to be that mean to someone.

There is still hope for someone at that age.

It's good that your learning and I'm sure this is your first mark, not like everyone on here knew everything about their mark when they got it. But that's what this forum is for to share problems/fixes for the things that break or go wrong.

I've read some of the comments(whether they be joking or not) being made about your car, its not what people think about your car its whether you like it and its the way you want it. As many of the cars on here are we all customize/mod our marks to our own tastes.

He got some newb bashing which is normal but I already told him in the other thread, he's got my respect for sure!!!

the bashing didnt bother me im used to it had all kinds of it since 1st grade and still go through it i dont even see it as much anymore

if you put in some time to help yourself, other people will be more likely to put in the time to help you out.

take an afternoon, pick something on the car you want to learn about, and spend a few hours researching everything you can on it. the archives here have all kinds of stuff. boring repair to Bill's sweet blower car.

not just here, google, bing, whatever.
most car topics are somewhat universal.

you read enough, you see enough, you start to get the general understanding of how Ford puts things together.

questions are fine when you get stuck, everybody on here has had questions at some point.

you get a good basis, you can work on anything.

i've spent more time researching than i ever have wrenching on a car.
