I have an 04 LS and I'm wondering does anyone make a catback exhaust kit for the year I have...I know there are some differences 03+...any advice would be much appreciated.

nope - the 03+ was re-worked and they did a pretty good job. the magnaflow prototype showed that the most they could get was another 5rwhp - too little for the money to make an actual kit.

you'll have to go the custom route.

Quik, do you know which one of Magnaflow's mufflers match up to the routing on the 03+ machines? I live in an area where I would have to buy the muffler by mail and don't want to get one that turns out not to match up to the existing exhaust.

I have Magnaflows on my 04, Any muffler with a center in offset out with a overall length of 18" will work. Ill get you a part number once I look mine up. I know I posted the part numbers in a post before with this question.

Nice...so I'm not going to spend the money for only 5hp...that will leave more dough for other things...like the big brake kit from StopTech : D

Thanks, did you notice a difference over the stock mufflers, or did you replace everything from the Cat back? Sound?

At first I just replaced the mufflers only. There was no difference in performance, but the sound is AWESOME!

Then I went to a full cat back, a friend owns a shop and he bent me the whole system for $50 (tubing cost). No difference over stock at all! So I sold the full cat back to a guy locally for $400, thats what he offered me.

I now went back to the factory piping and Magnaflow mufflers. With the cat back system the car felt like it lost too much torque off the line. With the smaller factory piping it gets up and is quick all over now. I would recommend just changing the factory mufflers just for added sound.

02V8Sport, Thank you for this reply. This is exactly the info I have been looking for. I'm not wanting to spend all the money on a custom setup for maybe 5 HP. A local shop is wanting to do a whole custom setup but all I want is a muffler swap. He had told me it wouldn't work because of the muffler inlet/outlet positions. But now I will have a part number to show him.
