Hey guys, I have a quick question. I'm thinking about changing my mufflers again or either just removing them all together. Right now I have two glasspacks w/ no third cat or resonator. I'm looking for a more raspy sound. My buddy has a 03 Cobra w/ slp loudmouth mufflers and it sounds great. Thats the sound I'm shooting for. Of course my mark will not sound the exact same as the his cobra. Would the SLP loudmouth mufflers have a different sound than the glasspacks I have now? How much of a sound difference would there be with no mufflers? What does everyone prefer?

I personally prefer the sound of the LMS exhaust but I may be biased.

Are the assassins the duel tip mufflers? If so I'm not looking for those kind. I need just a glasspack kind of muffler because I already have a set of tips I like. What kind of mufflers is everyone using?

I am still waiting for the day I have the funds for LMS double X pipe and Assasin mufflers. I beleive they are offered with the dual outlet tips, single oval tip and no tip at all, but ask Geno to be 100%.

Has anyone tried the dynomax bullet mufflers or cherry bombs? I'm just trying to shop around.

I couldnt be happier with the same Combo.

It just purrs at idle and when opened up its a very low tone and loud through the RPM band.

I like the way the LMS ones sound and flow but I think there to gawdy looking, too much of the muffler hangs out and I'm just a fan of a single tip also.

I have always liked the sound of warlock mufflers, buddy of mine has an 01 GT and with just the mufflers as a mod, the car just sounds pissed off! It's awesome!

no mufflers, and I love the sound-this is the second one I took the mufflers off, and it sounds great (to me).:)

Would the sound with no glasspacks be more throaty and raspy? It just sounds really muffled with glasspacks to me.

Just ditch the mufflers & put your tips on. My car sounds pretty close to my neighbors 04 cobra at idle & light acceleration. I removed my resonator, both rear mufflers & put a set of tips on.

Gawdy? First time I heard that one. What and where is it gawdy exactly I am just curious?

These are tucked clean & mean? Where is the part that "hangs out"?

Our mufflers land where every muffler on Earth would land when installed in this vehicle.

The LMS Assassins are full mirror chrome polish and lifetime warrantied. They come with just one round tip.

Ray had a video clip of them on here somewhere.

I think what he is saying is that they are gawdy from the side cause they are crome not black and yes I have heard this coment before the body should be black so it doesn't create a focal point
I could go either way think they would look good both ways

I think they would look better black as well. You see too much of the muffler. Just my oppinion.

Hm, the mufflers look nice, but I don't see why anyone wants a Mark that sounds like a truck going no mufflers or cat. But then I guess the same could be said as to why my nav runs 3 inch duals and flowmaster so more power to ya!

From a standing point you do not see our mufflers from the side anyway.
The photos look like they were taken from the knees, Geno you should have one shot from a standing point maybe from the corner of the car.

Might help with sales

I just like it tucked up in there, kinda like the early stock mark exhaust with just the tips hanging down.

I would like to see what some back ones look like with just a single polished tip

There still nice just not my cup of tea. these cars have alot of chrome to begin with.

I need to take a pic or two of the lincoln on the ground with the LMS eshaust I get so many complients on it.

It is a combination of the mufflers being shiny vs black (stock) and the angle of the shots. Our mufflers tuck as tight as they get.

Heres a shot of the installation on my car. You want to make them tuck even deeper then install them tilted like the factory mufflers.

Heres 10 years ago when I tried Dynomax on the car, these babaies are draggin' ! LOL!

Thats a better photo if you were standing in back I dont think you would see anything but the tip.
I know what you mean if you installed them with a tilt it would hide them more.

I love the way Mark VIII's sound with no mufflers. I had Dynomax Bullets before and Dynomax Ultraflows and I prefer the no muffler sound. You can really hear the 4V gurgle with no muffs. I've also had dual exhaust cutouts right after the front cats on my 95 LSC and it sounded like a drag car.

The exhaust question has been beaten to death (by me and others). On a budget: no mufflers sounds great, I have it in my car and the only negative comment I've heard was from my girlfriend who just hates loud cars and wants a bmw.
As far as glasspacks, I did want them on my car, but I decided against it because they make it a little quieter. As far as an "exhaust" set up I think everyone will agree that the lms double x with the assassins rocks. Look up the videos it has such a rich sound to it, as opposed to the no muffs I have which is a lot of uncontrolled noise (which still gets many compliments). I can't afford the LMS system but if I could that would have to be the best thing, I did the whole "what other options (cheaper) are there?" game as well and ended up as LMS being the best choice. After everything is set and done on the mark I will be buying a lot of go fast goodies from Geno.
