Hi, my factory am/fm cassette player is in bad shape. the buttons are cracked etc. my question is: would a different factory am/fm/cd player drop in, and work, or wouldn't that be possible? I have the 10 disc changer in trunk. JBL premium sound system. Thanks in advance.

yeah in my 93, i had an in dash cd player for awhile. might have been from an F150? i can't remember, but they do exist.

an another note, i would go aftermarket.

Even though my factory cassette worked fine (previous owner actually had it repaired two years ago) - I replaced it with an aftermarket. I have a 97 LSC - cassette, factory amp, CD changer, and telephone. I believe the part number for the 97/98 radio is F7LF-19B165-AD.

I get maintaining originality, but wanting to use two decade old stereo tech when swapping out is about the easiest thing one can do with a car just seems over the top silly to me.

+1, go aftermarket

I just found a set of Focal speakers for fairly cheap :D gotta love Ebay

I disagree. I try to keep things as original as possible but maybe that's just the old fart in me or maybe it's because I have 3 of those radios I would like to sell. Hard to say! Thanx Bruce

Bruce if you got an old fart in you, you should let it out before your head explodes
