I called around to get a price for installing 4 sport shocks & lowering springs and an alignment. The best price I got was $325. Is that a fair price-it seemed good to me. I would like to do this myself but not sure if it is worth the trouble.

Also where is the cheapest place you guys have seen sport shocks sell for?
Thanks

Well.....

The alignment would be ~$100. That translates to ~$56 per shock to change them. There shouldn't be any extra cost for the spring as the spring needs to be removed to change the shock anyway. Depending on your expertise and comfort level, this seems reasonable.

The cheapest place I have found for shocks is Bill Jenkins http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214270. It is a pleasure doing business with him. IIRC, the shocks are around $65 apiece.

Actually, Ford had a price increase on shocks. They are averaging around $75-$85 now. We sell them on our website too here:

Ken- would the 10% savings pay for the gold membership if I bought 4 shocks from you. How harsh would euros be with a 1.6 drop?

The gold membership is a good investment if you plan to purchase items for your LS. It will save you in the future too. As for the euros and a 1.6" drop I'd say it would be a very controlled ride.

thats an awsome price man. Thats about how much it was to install shocks and H&R springs in my 95 Cougar.

Yep..thats a few bucks cheaper than the Ford dealer charged me for the install last fall. I'd say go for it. Make sure you leave the note (usually included with the springs) for the tech to cut the bump stops.

I need to replace mine desperately. How much do you think I'll be spending to just change out the stock shocks at stock ride height?
