Fan running hard but no overheating

Ok its pretty hot hear in Atlanta and I have notice the past few days my fan has been running hard
No steam no loss of fluid its level
I did notice one night after stopping and staying in the car awhilei could hear some boiling going on but it didnt last long any suggestions ???
 
any recent work to the car? definitely sounds like it is overheating since false overheats are almost non-existent on these cars. Start with the Degas bottle since it's probably the first to go.
 
It's overheating. Why do you say that it is not? Overheating starts just before the gauge moves past the half-way mark.
Suggestions are all the standard ones that get repeated over and over here.

It causes the fan to run at high (or higher) speed. It does not cause it to go to 100% speed. You can tell the difference...

Not always, but it doesn't matter. If they are good (few are) they will know which parts (just about all the plastic cooling system parts) that they need to replace just by the symptom, age of the car (yours is an 06, right?) and service history. Basically, if all those parts haven't already been replaced, they need to be.
Yes, you could replace just the one or two that are cracked now, but in a few weeks you'd be replacing more.
 
Thanks like always first I will running it with the ac off and see if its a difference just to be sure I have found form past experience with dealer if its not a code showing up they will say its fine smdh. I can see me now

Ok is going to be $000 (some number in three digits) for us to check it but it will go to the problem when we find it and your min your warranty deduction it will cost you $100 just sign hear

Ok we check it and couldn't find anything so thanks for the money we will see you again when its really overheating and you bring it in on the back of a truck
 
OK so after better investigation into this matter I have found that the fan is normal. What I hear is some slight winding sound with the car own it adds to the fan sound watch made me think it was high now to the sound I hear it along with car off it's located on the passanger side that's about all I can tell and I just realize I need a value cover gasket on same side I can see it's a little wet
 
You have a leak, somewhere I have 02 v8 when I replaced my DCCV the other day I noticed after I drove to the store the fan sounded like I was about to take flight, then I noticed the hand went past the halfway mark so I turned the heat on full blast cut the A/C off, went into SST and floored it, needle dropped back down till it rest just above half. I then returned back to my house shut the car off went in took a shower went to sleep came back out after it cooled completely top off the degass no more take flight fan speeds no more over heating.


If you haven't replaced all the plastic in your cooling system and clamps. Like Joegr say you have a leak.
 
Just got back thermostat housing leak Something telling me it's going to be more the dealer just put a thermostat housing on it a few months ago it's under factory warranty now so they will fix it for free but I'm sure it's all the plastic by now

Ok thanks for the update.

If I was you I would order the parts offline, and make it a DIY project. That way you get to know the cooling system a little better and save some money.
 
I have been fighting my cooling system also, in just the past few months I have replaced, all plastic parts, I just changed out the DCCV, for a second time the first one was defective, replaced the fan actuator, new waterpump mines started leaking from the seals. Pulled it off and the plastic had eroded, and before the cold days come will be replacing the aux water pump. Radiator was replaced about one year and a half ago, some one poked a hole in it from the fan side, couldn't see it on the out side. Plus the hole was to perfect shadey auto shop I use to deal wit cause the was closer and cheaper then the dealer. Good luck with your repairs keep us posted that way the new comers can have a reference to go by.

X2. You don't need any specialized tools to replace the cooling system, and the hardest parts is getting the degas bottle out because of the hose going behind the engine and getting the thermostat housing out because the intake has to be loosened to get the bolts out and not everyone has been successful in getting the intake sealed back down properly the first time. Let the dealer do the thermostat housing under warranty, definitely. And, get the factory degas bottle, not the Dorman. The cash savings on the Dorman is not worth replacing it a second time in 6 months, as most (not all) Dorman users have had to do.

Forgot to mention one other hard part, and that is parting with about 600 bucks for the parts.
 
LOL @ having to take the intake manifold off for a thermostat housing replacement, NOT on a V8 first GEN that's for sure. Like some motors that have to be loosened from the mounts so it can tilled forward to acces 3 spark plugs in the rear. ~ gotta love it.
 
You do on the 2nd gen V8, but it's not that difficult.
 
knew that, thus the LOL. 1st GEN easy as cake other then two back bolts a little tricky due to length.

still better than having to remove the intake to replace three plugs or coils... lol

apparently, Ford just likes making people remove the intake all the time!
 
Well, at least the next guy who works on mine won't have to, I used shorter bolts on the two rears on mine. There were more than enough threads to hold it down.
