I had this in general discussion before and didn't get any response, so I'll
try here.
I have a 1980 caddy deville with a 6.0 liter engine (368 cu.in.) It's starts fine first thing when I go out, I idle it for about 30 secs., then hit gas pedal and it idles down, everythings fine at this point, but after a short drive , when I park ,it idles very fast,when I hit gas pedal it doesn't idle down, and when I turn key off,it "diesels" anywhere from 3 to 10 secs. From what I have found on the net, idle is either controlled by an idle solenoid (electrical) or a mechanical heat activated control, has anyone had any experience with this. Tnx. Creeker
